Vinmonopolet partners with Worldfavor to strengthen supply chain due diligence
Vinmonopolet partners with Worldfavor to meet regulatory demands, strengthen supply chain due diligence, transparency and traceability. Vinmonopolet has the exclusive right to sell spirits, wine, and strong ale with more than 4,7 percent alcohol to consumers in Norway. This partnership highlights Vinmonopolet's commitment to improving supply chain due diligence and sustainability.
Worldfavor is a SaaS ESG platform that connects over 30,000 organizations globally, empowering secure sustainable growth with data-backed insights, including detecting and mitigating supply chain risks, complying with legal requirements, and accelerating their positive impact.
Vinmonopolet, founded in 1922 and reporting to the Norwegian Ministry of Health and Care Services, is a state-owned company that oversees the responsible sale of alcoholic beverages in Norway. With approximately 350 stores across Norway and more than 35,000 products from around 100 countries, Vinmonopolet is committed to being a forerunner in sustainability by reducing its climate footprint and ensuring decent working conditions throughout its supply chain.
Their partnership with Worldfavor is a crucial step in achieving these ambitious goals, also in light of increased regulatory demands and customers' future expectations for transparency and traceability.
“Working with Worldfavor will allow us to strengthen our supply chain due diligence, thereby creating a positive impact where it is most needed,” said Sasha-Monique Elvik, Senior Sustainability Advisor at Vinmonopolet. “Their solution will enable us and our direct business partners, the wholesalers, to collect and analyze primary data on the products we sell, down to the farm level, to identify risks and measure our positive impact effectively.”
“This new partnership is integral in taking our commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices to a higher level,” Elvik added.
Leading the way in the beverage industry
With both the Swedish government-owned alcohol retail monopoly, and now Vinmonopolet as customers, Worldfavor extends its service across Europe within the beverage industry. These entities not only hold a significant market share in the global alcohol retail industry but also set standards for due diligence, traceability, transparency and tracking sustainability in operations.
''We're thrilled to partner with Vinmonopolet, a leader in the beverage industry committed to sustainability and transparency. By joining forces, we can drive sustainable impact in the beverage industry at scale. Worldfavor's platform will help Vinmonopolet enhance supply chain due diligence, meet regulatory demands, and drive meaningful environmental and social impact. This collaboration reflects our shared vision of creating a more sustainable and responsible future'', says Andreas Liljendahl, CEO at Worldfavor.
