The award was presented at the event in January, and arranged by the gala's main sponsor Svenska Spel who collected and analyzed information using Worldfavor's sustainability data platform.* The Swedish Sports Gala is organized yearly to recognize and honor sports and athletes' achievements over the past year. During the event, main sponsor Svenska Spel presented the first-ever award in the category Role model of the Year, handing it to Svenska Tennisförbundet for their successful projects such as "Tennis on the bounce" and "Tennis on the street" which aim to make tennis a sport for everyone. Using Worldfavor's digital sustainability data platform, Svenska Spel collects information from around 70 sports federations to analyze their work with diversity and equality. For the past two years, the data has been followed up annually with all the sports federations and associations Svenska Spel cooperates with. This follow-up is the basis for the Role Model of the Year award. As the most significant sponsor of Swedish Sports, Svenska Spel has a unique opportunity to promote and actively work with diversity and sustainability in sports. They hope that Svenska Tennisförbundets achievement will inspire other federations and associations to follow their lead and make sports accessible to everyone, regardless of age, gender, background, or functional variations.
